I had a mixed experience at The Whitechapel. While the staff was incredibly friendly and the restaurant served delicious food, the overall hotel condition left much to be desired. The room was uncomfortable with a very noisy fridge and the area felt somewhat unsafe at night, which made for an uneasy stay.
Rooms
5.0
The room was small and had issues like a noisy fridge and lack of privacy from thin walls. The bathroom setup was awkward, with a wash basin in the bedroom rather than enclosed. I was definitely hoping for more space and comfort for the price I paid.
Service
5.0
Staff members were friendly and went out of their way to assist me, creating a welcoming environment. However, communication was sometimes lacking, especially when I encountered issues that needed addressing.
Location
5.0
The hotel is located in an area that feels a bit run down and wasn't the safest to walk around at night. The proximity to the Whitechapel underground station was a plus, but I opted for Uber rides after dark due to safety concerns.
Dining
6.0
The restaurant, Sahara Grill, served fantastic food, and that was definitely a highlight of my stay. However, the breakfast experience was less satisfying, as I had to eat at a nearby café that didn’t meet expectations.
Facilities
5.0
I appreciated the cleanliness of the hotel, but there were notable maintenance issues that impacted my comfort. The ineffective air conditioning caused discomfort, especially during the warmer nights.

5.6/10
I had a mixed experience at The Whitechapel during my recent stay. The apartment I stayed in was spacious and clean, but I faced some challenges like a lack of soundproofing and limited drawer space. The area felt a bit rough at night, but the location was conveniently close to transportation options.
Rooms
6.0
The apartment I had was clean and spacious, though the noise from the upstairs guests kept me awake at times. The furniture was a bit worn, and I found the setup a bit inconvenient with the shower setup and limited mirrors.
Service
6.0
Staff were generally friendly upon check-in and made the process smooth, but there were instances of poor response from the front desk later in the evening.
Location
5.0
While the location was ideal for public transport access, the immediate surrounding area felt uninviting, with littered pavements and an overall rough edge at night.
Dining
5.0
I found the dining options available were lacking, particularly in breakfast variety. Though the restaurant had potential, it was not up to par during my stay.
Facilities
6.0
The apartment facilities were modern and well-kept, but I experienced issues like the room key not functioning properly initially, which was a bit frustrating.

My stay at The Whitechapel had some ups and downs. I appreciated the cleanliness and the comfortable beds, but the location left much to be desired, especially with the noise and the intimidating surroundings. While some staff were friendly and helpful, my room was pretty cramped for comfort and had a few maintenance issues that could be improved.
Rooms
6.0
The room I stayed in was quite small, practically made for one person, and had some issues like a noisy mini fridge and a bathroom layout that wasn’t user-friendly. The bed, while comfortable, was squeezed into a corner, making it awkward to move around.
Service
6.0
The staff at the front desk were friendly and quick to help with directions, but I felt the overall service was inconsistent. When I raised concerns about my room, I didn’t receive an adequate response.
Location
5.0
The hotel is very close to the tube station, which is convenient, but I found the surrounding area to be a bit run down and not very welcoming. Walking from the station to the hotel felt intimidating at night.
Dining
7.0
I enjoyed a meal at the Sahara Grill, which had excellent food. However, the dining options felt limited for a hotel of this caliber, and breakfast could use more variety beyond just full English breakfasts.
Facilities
5.0
While the hotel is modern and generally clean, I was disappointed with some of the amenities. For instance, the air conditioning was quite loud and didn’t always keep the room comfortable, and I noticed some maintenance issues that detracted from my stay.

My stay at The Whitechapel was a mixed experience. I appreciated the comfort of the bed and the cleanliness of the hotel, but I faced issues with breakfast and some communication problems with the staff. While the location was acceptable, it didn’t always feel the safest at night.
Rooms
7.0
The room I stayed in was decent for one person, though I found it small, especially when I imagined it would be more spacious. The toilet was a good size, and I enjoyed having tea and coffee facilities available, but some noise from the neighboring room was bothersome.
Service
6.0
Most of the staff were friendly and accommodating, and when I expressed my dietary needs, they went out of their way to bring a toaster to my room. However, the directions I received for the nearest tube station were incorrect, leading to a frustrating start to my day.
Location
6.0
The hotel was about a 10-minute walk from the Whitechapel tube station, which was convenient during the day. However, I felt a bit uneasy about walking back at night, so I mostly opted for Uber, adding an extra cost to my stay.
Dining
5.0
I had a notable issue with breakfast because there was none available despite having paid for it in advance. The staff suggested a cafe across the street, which wasn’t suitable for my dietary needs. In the end, I got a toaster in my room later on, which was a nice touch.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel itself was modern and clean, which added to the overall appeal. I found the amenities, like the tea and coffee provided in my room, very helpful. However, housekeeping could have been more prompt in addressing my needs, particularly regarding missing towels.
